Partnership Negotiation

I wish that everyone could experience negotiating an entrepreneurial endeavor. It’s unlike anything else in life.

Usually, you negotiate the price of a couch. You want $500 off the price due to a minute rip in the seam. The salesperson wants to save their commission, so they negotiate with you, and then (of course) call their sales manager to clinch the deal. The sides are clearly drawn and both parties are working for their own interest.
What is amazing in the best way possible about negotiating with a business partner (not a contract deal, but a real partnership) is that you’re looking in the mirror.   [click to continue…]

Fear Makes you Good

I was talking with a friend of mine who operates his own business and he said, “What I loved talking to you about were your fears… That’s why I knew I work with you, we have some of the same fears.” I thought this was interesting and really true. It’s important to have the right fears.
