Partnership Negotiation

I wish that everyone could experience negotiating an entrepreneurial endeavor. It’s unlike anything else in life.

Usually, you negotiate the price of a couch. You want $500 off the price due to a minute rip in the seam. The salesperson wants to save their commission, so they negotiate with you, and then (of course) call their sales manager to clinch the deal. The sides are clearly drawn and both parties are working for their own interest.
What is amazing in the best way possible about negotiating with a business partner (not a contract deal, but a real partnership) is that you’re looking in the mirror.   [click to continue…]

Evolution, Baby

I realized today with a grin that I am using Microsoft as my search engine and Google for my email (always) and word processor (sometimes.) What a mixed up world! In 2011, I’ll probably be using Twitter to make phone calls and eBay to read the news.
